Well it’s a new year, and of course that means new resolutions. I’m not calling my fitness goals a resolution, because I’m terrible at resolutions. However, I’m still trying to start the new year out right and get in shape. Last April, Jenn started Tone and Tighten’s awesome 8 Week Beginner Workout. Since I was pregnant, I couldn’t join in the fun but she had good success with it so I thought it would be great to give it a shot! I’m excited to try Jared’s workout plan and hopefully see some positive changes!
Part of the Week 1 challenge is write down your top three reasons for why you are doing this. So here are my reasons…
1.) To (hopefully) get rid of some aches and pains. I’ve noticed that after having two babies almost back to back and not losing the weight, that I’ve had a lot of back and knee pain. I’m trying really hard to not think that it’s just because I’m getting old!
2.) To feel better about myself. I hate taking pictures with my family because I don’t like the way I look and that makes me feel sad. I want to have pictures with my family!
3.) Summertime. We love going camping, hiking, swimming, all of that fun stuff during the summer. I would like to be able to hang out with my family and do all the stuff we love to do without getting exhausted before we really even start.
So there you have my why. Now for my goals!
Obviously my first goal is to lose weight. I’d also love to tone up while I lose the weight.
So to break it down…
Lose belly fat
Toner butt and thighs
Overall weight loss for 8 weeks – 10 pounds
I’ve taken my measurements…boy oh boy was that an eye opener! I’m planning on taking my measurements every week, along with my weight. I prefer to put more stock in measurements because I’ve noticed that when I’m working out and eating right, I see a lot more change in my measurements than I do on the scale. So I know this will help me from getting frustrated and giving up when I don’t see the pounds just falling off the scale.
