A few years ago my Aunt gave me this beautiful winter berry wreath for Christmas along with little picture frames for each of the kids. Sadly, since I wanted the wreath on my front door the little frames didn’t last long before with all the opening and closing they became loose and I had to take them off.
I still think the wreath is beautiful and I still hang it every year. This year with the cold and snow I haven’t finished taking down all the outdoor decorations so this one was still hanging. I kept looking at it and knew there had to be a way to dress it up for Valentine’s day without making it unusable for Christmas. I think I figured out exactly what I was wanting.
This year (or maybe from here on out this holiday) Valentine’s is all about the burlap and banners for me.
I just free-handed the whole thing. I cut 4 tiny little triangles out of burlap and then painted them white and used a not sharpened pencil dipped in red paint to paint on the letters.
I then used my cute red/white bakers twine and glued it to the back of the burlap pieces.
The last step was these TEENY TINY little clothes pins. Aren’t they the cutest? I bought a whole handful of them and then using a little piece of Valentine paper and mod podge I dressed them up for Valentine’s day too.
It only took a couple minutes to transform my Christmas wreath into my Valentine’s wreath and because I can quickly take the banner off come December it’ll be a Christmas wreath all over again.
Here are a few other Valentine projects we’ve made for you to check out:
