I know it’s kind of short notice since General Conference is in 10 days but maybe if you’re looking for a project for next week’s mutual activity or if you have a Young Woman yourself and want to help her with her Personal Progress (or maybe you’re just a really cool Young Woman yourself and are looking for a project you can do that goes along with General Conference time).
Back in March the Mia Maid class did an activity that I loved. I am not sure where my friend Shelly got the idea but I was determined to get them done with the girls before the end of the year.
The 10 hour project breaks down like this:
2 hour Wednesday activity making the book
Watch 4 – 2 hour sessions of Conference taking notes
Write in your journal
10 hours of being uplifted and one of your big Value projects completed. I’m looking forward to getting mine completed as well.
To make the activity fun we brought a whole bunch of coordinating papers and my favorite composition books and let the girls create their own individualized notebooks.
We used the same basic idea as when I made these:
The only real difference is that instead of using different types of glue guns/glue dots we used Mod Podge to attach our layers of paper.
Here is my notebook
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out and the girl’s loved making them, it was so fun to see all their different ideas.
I’m also pretty excited about learning how to use Cricut Craftroom. It’s quite a bit more fun to use my Cricut now that I can get my letters linked together! If you have a cricut and haven’t learned about craftroom yet I suggest you do it asap. Gena came over and showed me how to use it and now I am pretty sure I won’t be using my cricut again without it.
